Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are taking another step in their relationship after the Christmas festivities apart.
Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs flew to Pittsburgh to take the Steelers in one of two Christmas Day games on Netflix’s platform as part of the streaming giant’s three-year-deal with the NFL. As such, Kelce was unable to spend the day with Swift, who recently concluded her year-long ‘Eras Tour,’ which saw her traveling the world, with the star tight end joining her whenever he can.
After being unable to be together for the holiday, the couple has reportedly made a decision with big implications for their relationship. Currently, Swift has home bases in Los Angeles and New York City but the star seemingly will have a new home base, one closer to Kelce in Kansas City: Nashville.
“It looks like this may be Taylors domestic era,” a source told Page Six. “It also looks like Taylor is going to make Nashville more of a home base than LA or NY since its closer to Kansas City, and her mom, Andrea, loves [Nashville] too.”
Swift already has two properties in Nashville, an apartment and a mansion. The megastar also has a property in Beverly Hills, a compound in New York City reportedly worth $50 million, and another property in Rhode Island worth an additional $17 million while Kelce has a home in Kansas City worth $6 million.
Considering how frequently the two travel, the source claims the couple live a “nomadic” lifestyle, thus making it imperative for the two to have places to stay around the country. However, with the ‘Eras Tour’ coming to a close, the source believes this is Swift’s way of being more part of the WAGs of the NFL.
Taylor is really embracing WAG life, the source continued to the outlet. I think shes adapted so well to WAG life because she truly understands what its like to be part of a team especially coming off Eras where she formed such a close connection with her band, dancers, singers and crew.
She appreciates that sort of camaraderie and collaboration, that kind of chosen family. She fully gets and respects those bonds and why they need to be supported.
With Swift making plans to move her base to Nashville, that also bodes well for the 35-year-old tight end’s career after retirement speculation.
Kelce recently admitted that he might have played his last game in Cleveland, though the comment was made in reference to the fact that the Chiefs rarely play the Browns in Cleveland, having played there only twice in the last 12 years. Additionally, with Kelce’s advanced age, having a home with Swift in Nashville could persuade him to keep playing.
Regardless of what happens in Kelce’s career, the nomadic lifestyle the two live has caused one or the other to miss out on key moments in each other’s professional lives. For example, Swift was not present when Kelce caught his 77th receiving touchdown, the most in Chiefs history.
Though she was not there to witness history, Swift did “like” three posts from the Chiefs, NFL and the ‘New Heights’ podcast that celebrated Kelce’s accomplishment. After the game, Kelce spoke on what it meant for him to break Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez’s record.
I feel like Im still trying to fill that guys shoes. Hes such an unbelievable competitor and Ive got so much love for him. Its an honor to be in conversations with him,” the star said.
