Veteran broadcaster Terry Bradshaw’s future has been rife with speculation as fans call for his retirement following a number of debatable recent appearances.

The FOX NFL Sunday host has been called out for making several on-air mistakes and the opinion of his fellow presenting team has also been questioned. Bradshaw, 76, has made a number of dubious actions and behaviors publicly recently which has added more doubt from fans regarding his presenting future.

Last month, Bradshaw appeared to get under his co-host Michael Strahan’s skin as he threatened to overshadow his celebratory moment at his former college with a controversial joke. Bradshaw attempted to get a cheap laugh as Strahan was inducted into the Texas Southern University Hall of Fame.

When Strahan expressed his gratitude for his journey to the special milestone, saying: “I gotta say thank you to Texas Southern University for putting me in the Hall of Fame on Friday night.” Bradshaw took the moment away from the New York Giants legend with a comment that failed to land, appearing to confuse the audience at the historically Black college

Strahan became the first inductee into Texas Southern University Hall of Fame since 1996 as fellow FOX Sports analysts including Rob Gronkowski and Howie Long applauded him at the ceremony. As the ceremony unfolded, Bradshaw jumped in attempting to inject a joke into the moment. “That is not true. I went in,” he said, insinuating he also went to the college. Strahan quickly shut Bradshaw down, responding: “You didn’t go to Texas Southern.”

Continuing his attempt at the joke, Bradshaw replied, “I think I did.” To which Strahan replied with a witty comment hinting that Bradshaw’s presence at an HBCU would have been hard to miss. “We would have known, you would have stood out,” he quipped back.

Just weeks later, Strahan appeared to have enough of Bradshaw’s antics on NFL Sunday when he was interrupted by Bradshaw attempting to make another joke when discussing Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson. Strahan heralded him as “one of the biggest difference-makers” in the league before continuing his praise.

“After the bye week, [Hutchinson is] still leading the league in sacks with six-and-a-half. And the [quarterback] pressures,” Strahan said. However, he was promptly interrupted by Bradshaw, who chimed in: “I did the song already. Pressure!”

Earlier in the show, Bradshaw had curiously began to sing the Queen and David Bowie song ‘Under Pressure’ while discussing the New England Patriots’ call to drop veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett for rookie Drake Maye. “It’s a terrible move,” Bradshaw began before going off at a bizarre tangent.

“Brissett was doing everything he could to keep that thing going. That’s a horrible offensive line,” he added. “The one key word there is pressure. Freddie Mercury of Queen, remember the song? Pressure! Coming down, you remember the song? Drake Maye will be under pressure. This is a bad move.”

It seemed that his co-hosts didn’t want him to break out into song again as Strahan quickly pleaded with the former quarterback not to repeat his singing. “Please don’t do that. Please don’t do that again,” he told Bradshaw. “You might get sued for ruining their song.” Long also agreed with Strahan as he joined in to joke that Queen’s lead singer would not be happy with Bradshaw’s rendition of the song. “Freddie Mercury’s rolling over [in] his grave,” he joked, sending the panel into laughter.

And just last weekend, Strahan was left gobsmacked on the show after Bradshaw laughed at Jimmy Johnson’s comment about Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson. Given the Jags miserable form and Pederson leaving the franchise at the end of the season, Johnson brutally questioned whether anyone would care if he was to leave his role.

“I don’t think so, Curt. But really, other than the people in Jacksonville and maybe in London, who really cares?” Johnson asked. “You know, because you look at it. He’s going to retire at the end of the season and he’s going to walk away with some money and statue in Philadelphia, so it’ll be fine.”

While Strahan was left stunned by the comment, replying “Wow” before telling Johnson “You are cruel.” Bradshaw found his savage statement hilarious, bursting into laughter. The Jags were beaten 12-7 by the Minnesota Vikings in week 10 action, compounding their record to 2-8.
