You know those people who are a walking ray of sunshine, radiating feel-good energy? Well, one of those people is Jordan, a kind and hard-working man, and as of recently – a fellow cat rescuer.
a first-generation homestead and farm on 43 acres in Grant County, Indiana, Jordan is accustomed to life surrounded by many animals.
Recently, he stumbled upon a tiny abandoned kitten in the woodshed on his property. Surprised by this furry discovery, Jordan decided to help the kitten and make her his new friend.
Luckily for all of us cat rescue story enthusiasts.
In the first video he shared, he talked about the kitten’s origins on his property, suspecting that someone probably dumped her near his farm, mercilessly leaving her to fend for herself.
Somehow, she found her way into his woodshed, where, frightened for her life, she sought shelter from the still unknown world.
The kitten was so skittish that Jordan couldn’t approach closer than 10 feet. He decided to give her time and space to adjust and begin trusting him on her own terms.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the kitten to recognize Jordan’s good intentions; within an hour, she emerged from her shelter and approached him for some cuddles, prompting Jordan to exclaim:
“Now we’re best friends!”
Jordan soon realized his new furry friend was the cuddliest and most playful kitten he had ever seen. Once he figured out she was a girl, he got right into naming her.
“Well, since I found her in the woodshed, how about we name you Woodshed Wilma?”
Some people questioned why Jordan thought little Wilma had been dumped on his property rather than just being a stray
Jordan clarified everything, explaining why he was so certain someone left her on his farm. He said:
“Wilma was definitely dumped. She’s not a stray. You see, she’s only, I would say ten weeks old maybe, she’s not very big at all. Our closest neighbor is a half mile away. I know all of our neighbors around here. When I found her, I called all my neighbors and asked them, ‘Are you missing this sweet little kitty?’ And all of them said, ‘No.’”
He also added:
“I really find it hard to believe that this cat at this young age would travel a half mile or even more than a mile, so…she was definitely dumped. And I’m glad that she was dumped here, ‘cause we’re gonna give her a beautiful life.”
Woodshed Wilma quickly became part of Jordan’s family, as if she had always been meant to be.
In no time at all, she fell head over heels for her dad, Jordan, loving their playtime and cuddles, and stealing ear and belly rubs whenever she could.
She accompanied him on daily farm duties, got along wonderfully with her feline brother Loki, and even tolerated her canine brother, Lincoln.
All in all, she was a purrfect addition to an already perfect life on this farm in Grant County, Indiana.
“Have you ever had one of those animals that when you find them they just fit into your family? Everything just seems to flow? Well, that’s exactly how we feel about Woodshed Wilma!”
As Woodshed Wilma grew older, she became increasingly playful and, well, mischievous. From being initially shy and skittish, she transformed into the silliest girl and Jordan’s best friend.
She loved to wreak havoc in the middle of the night, waking everyone up and destroying his plants.
But Wilma wasn’t just about mischief – she also proved to be the best cuddle buddy Jordan could ever ask for.
Wilma’s favorite snuggle spots were either Jordan’s lap or – get this – his beard!
Yes, you read that right! Little Wilma was obsessed with Jordan’s facial hair and loved to nap in his unruly beard.
Just listen to her purr in this video! Doesn’t she sound like the happiest little kitty?
Today, Wilma is still a cherished member of Jordan’s family, enjoying all the luxuries of farm life as a bit older gal now.
She thrives with her family, especially with Jordan, who remains grateful for the day he stumbled upon a tiny kitten in his woodshed and gained a furry friend who ended up changing his life completely.
