Sweet Japanese Tortie Named Beth Was Born To Pose

There is something about tortoiseshell cats that is truly special. Not only are they unique in appearance, but these female kitty cats often have sass for days that their owners just can’t get enough of. For one rescued tortoiseshell cat named Elizabeth, she lives in Japan with her dedicated cat parent. And she’s here to defy the tortietude stereotype because she is nothing but sweet and kind. She spends her days being loved and spoiled with all the attention she could ever want. And when she’s not busy being a pampered princess, she’s ready to strike a pose for the camera.

Her owner told me that “in Japan, tortoiseshell cats are said to be smart, cooperative, and loving. But, because of tortoiseshell cat’s distinctive color, they are not popular in Japan.”

How did you meet Elizabeth?

I met her on a website looking for a foster family for animals.

How did you come up with her cute name?

She was named “Elizabeth” because of her gorgeous tortoiseshell fur.

What is her personality like?

She loves to eat, sleep, and play. She is very smart.

What are her favorite hobbies?

She likes to play with her feather and string toy.

Does she have any dog or cat housemates at home?

She used to live with a cat called “Chome,” but sadly, she passed away this year in May.

Does she have tortietude like most tortoiseshell cats?

No, not at all. She is sweet and kind.

What’s something special you’d like for people to know about Elizabeth?

She is a rescue cat, not a pedigree cat, but she is very smart, very sweet, and enriches our lives.

I would like to give a special “thank you” to Beth’s owner for taking the time to answer my questions about this precious feline. For more of these cutie pie, be sure to check her on Instagram.
