Donna Kelce is embracing her new role as a traveling mom with a slightly adjusted schedule following her son Jason Kelce’s retirement from the NFL. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, she shared how she plans to continue supporting her sons, Travis and Jason, but with a twist now that Jason has transitioned to a new career as a pre-game analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown.
Donna noted that while Jason won’t be on the field anymore, she still plans to be involved in their lives as they both navigate their respective paths. She expressed her excitement about this new chapter, saying she’s “having the time of [her] life” now, more than ever.
Donna Kelce is ready to adjust to her new normal as her son Jason transitions from NFL player to broadcaster. While Jason’s travel won’t be as physically taxing as during his playing days, he will still have a busy schedule, flying to cover Monday Night Football games each week.
In her interview, Donna expressed her commitment to supporting Jason in this new role just as she has done for Travis. She acknowledged that while her travel schedule might be hectic—potentially involving 15 consecutive days of travel—she’s relieved she won’t have to split her time between two locations anymore. This change allows her to focus on supporting both of her sons without the strain of being in two places at once.
Donna Kelce fondly reminisced about her incredible journey during the playoffs in January 2022, where she made a remarkable effort to support both of her sons, Travis and Jason. Starting in Tampa, she watched Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles, then quickly traveled nearly 1,300 miles to Kansas City to see Travis and the Chiefs.
Now, with Jason’s new role as a broadcaster for Monday Night Countdown, she expressed her excitement about finally being able to see both of her sons together in one place. This opportunity is especially meaningful to her, as she hasn’t watched them play in the same game since their matchup in November 2023, dubbed the “Kelce Bowl,” which was the first rematch since the Super Bowl earlier that year.
