Everyone knows that snakes have the ability to open their jaws very wide, so it doesn’t matter if the prey they choose is a bit large. However, if you are too greedy, you will have to pay the price.
As its name suggests, water snakes usually live near rivers, can move very skillfully in both terrestrial and aquatic environments.
Because of that, their main food is often small animals, especially amphibians living in the same environment.
In the video below, it seems the water snake was lucky enough to sniff out the scent of its favorite prey. It immediately followed the “call of the stomach”. However, the gluttony deceived the instinct of this water snake when it did not accurately identify the size of the prey.
The prey this time it chose accidentally was the goblin frog – one of the largest frogs in the world. Worse, this is also a carnivore with top-notch predatory camouflage and ambush methods.
The water snake just entered the enemy’s range without even knowing it. Then the goblin frog suddenly launched a lightning-fast attack that made it unable to turn around, had to “let go of the hand to tie” in the mouth of the enemy.
Luckily for it, in the crucial moment, the goblin frog was left open to escape its prey. If it is not certain today, the water snake will have to pay with its life for its subjectivity.
