Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce found himself diving into the world of holiday romance as he reviewed Love Actually, Taylor Swift’s favorite Christmas movie, on his latest New Heights podcast episode. The review came at the request of his sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, who wanted Travis and her husband, Jason, to weigh in on the 2003 romantic comedy.
A Change of Heart
Initially, Travis wasn’t sold on the holiday classic. On a previous episode, he jokingly described the experience of watching it as “torture.” However, after giving the movie another shot, he had a surprising change of heart.
“I actually enjoyed it,” Travis admitted during the Christmas Eve episode. He praised the film’s “very interesting” and “fun” interwoven storylines but noted that its portrayal of love and relationships felt overwhelming at times.
“All of the scandal and drama in the various storylines was terrifying to watch,” Travis confessed. “What’s crazy is that all of these stories tie together in one community, and it’s supposed to make it look like this is what happens — like this is what’s going on around you.”

A “Far-Fetched” Take on Love
Despite finding the movie entertaining, Travis also found it “far-fetched.” He admitted that he struggled to connect with any of the characters or situations onscreen, adding that he didn’t necessarily agree with its status as a Christmas movie.
“Is it a holiday movie? I’m not so sure,” he said.
Differing Opinions Around the Table
The Kelce family debate over Love Actually brought a mix of reactions. Kylie Kelce, a fan of the film, shared her love for the romantic classic, while her husband Jason, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, was less impressed.
“I’m giving an honest review, not swayed by an ulterior motive,” Jason said, making it clear he felt “forced” to watch the movie for the podcast.
Taylor Swift’s Connection to the Film
Taylor Swift has long been a fan of Love Actually. In a 2014 Teen Vogue interview, the pop icon gushed, “If you look around, love actually is all around.”
Swift has also recently shared her admiration for one of the movie’s stars, Hugh Grant, who tweeted about attending her Eras Tour in London earlier this year. The actor even mentioned doing tequila shots with Travis, which Swift cheekily acknowledged on social media, writing, “As a longtime Hugh Grant stan, this tweet is very important to my culture.”
Travis’s Final Verdict
Despite his initial hesitation, Travis gave the film high marks for its acting and direction, scoring both categories 9 and 8 out of 10, respectively. “It’s well-acted, no doubt,” he conceded.
What’s Next for the Kelces and Swift?
The episode marked Kylie’s second appearance on New Heights and her first since launching her own podcast, Not Gonna Lie. Meanwhile, fans of Travis and Jason’s podcast are buzzing with excitement, convinced that Taylor Swift herself might be a guest in an upcoming episode.
The Kelce brothers have teased a “very special” guest for next month, hinting that it’s someone fans have “long” been waiting for. If Swift does make an appearance, it could be one of the most highly anticipated podcast episodes of the year.
For now, Travis’s honest and entertaining take on Love Actually offers a glimpse into his growing connection with Swift’s world, blending romance, humor, and holiday cheer in true Kelce fashion.
