Jake Paul’s girlfriend Jutta Leerdam has confessed her apprehension for her boyfriend’s upcoming fight with Mike Tyson this week.
The Olympic speed skater candidly expressed her thoughts on Paul’s impending match against boxing legend Iron Mike, succinctly stating: “He’s scary. He’s just scary.” The silver medalist also voiced her concerns about whether Paul’s relative lack of experience compared to Tyson’s lifelong immersion in boxing could pose a significant disadvantage for the 27-year-old.
Despite her confidence in Paul’s ability to triumph over Tyson, Leerdam acknowledges that Tyson’s body has been conditioned to train and compete at an elite level for many years. The 25-year-old reiterated her anxiety leading up to the fight, labelling Tyson as “super strong” and reminding Paul that the iconic fighter still possesses the fierce brutality he was once known for.
“I think you’re gonna win, but he’s the competitor – that is the most scary to me,” Leerdam said to Paul on his BS w/ Jake Paul podcast. “He’s scary. He’s just scary. He’s super strong, and I’ve seen videos of him. Of course he’s a little bit older now, but if you’ve ever been able to do that, your body remembers that. He has that power forever.

“And also, one thing about Jake is he’s been doing this for, like, five years. I think that is worse than being, like, almost 60 and having your whole life [boxing]. You’re used to that power. You’ve trained so much. Your body will remember that.

“He’s had so many years of training. Jake didn’t even train like five years ago. He didn’t do anything. He was partying. So that’s not even comparable.
“If someone started a few years ago with speed skating, they couldn’t even participate in the world championships. Like, that’s not even possible. So what Jake is doing is already crazy. Seriously.”
Leerdam isn’t the only one expressing serious concerns about Paul’s upcoming bout. Pam Stepnick, Paul’s mother, is known for her loud support of her sons Jake and Logan in their combat sports ventures, but this time around, she’s showing signs of worry.
When Jake broke the news to her about his fight against Tyson, she was terrified, questioning whether he was truly “ready” for such a challenge. “She will be there but my mom is very scared actually,” Paul revealed.

“Like, she keeps on asking me if I’m ready, asking my team if I’m ready. She’s not liking this one, to be honest. He (Tyson) just looks scary and big, and his Instagram videos on the mitts look crazy and everything, so I get it.”
Jake’s dad, Greg Paul, was visibly shaken at the news of his son stepping into the ring with the former ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. When Jake revealed who he’d be facing next, Greg couldn’t help but let out a string of curses, saying: “No way, dude, are you f—–g kidding me, Jake? He’s going to be the hardest hitting motherf—-r you’ve ever fought. Dude, holy f–k, I’m going to be freaking out.”
Paul will fight Tyson this Friday, November 15. The bout will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will be live streamed around the world on Netflix.
