Jake Paul put forth an impassioned response to claims that his upcoming fight against Mike Tyson is rigged.

It’s not an accusation unknown to the 27-year-old, who’s been forced to repeatedly defend the validity of his boxing career in recent years. Paul is gearing up to challenge the former undisputed heavyweight world champion in their rescheduled bout on Friday (November 15) at the AT&T Stadium in Texas, with up to 80,000 fans expected to be in attendance and millions set to watch on Netflix.

The pair’s pre-fight face-to-face has been released on YouTube. Discussing his quick ascent in the sport, Paul described himself as the fastest-growing individual in boxing before touching on the claims by a section of the public that his fights are pre-determined.

“They chalk up what I’ve done to fights being rigged,” he said. “Still when he (Tyson) posts on his Instagram looking like a killer [and] hitting the s–t out of the mits, the top five comments are ‘if Jake wins this fight it’s completely rigged’, and that used to bother me.

“Because I was like ‘I work so hard can’t you f—ing people see’, but now I take it as a compliment because the human peon brain of the 99% can’t even comprehend how good I’ve gotten and what I’m accomplishing in this world.”

Their fight has had their fair share of critics with many lambasting Paul for taking on someone 31 years older than him, regardless of Tyson’s pedigree. The New Yorker has suffered with health issues as of late, including an ulcer flare-up on a flight earlier this year which caused the initial postponement of the fight.

One notable critic of their battle is UFC icon Conor McGregor, who recently sounded off on the bout in an explicit-filled rant during a live stream with online sports betting company Duelbits.

“Mike Tyson, this is your stock. I don’t give a ——–“, the Irishman said. “They’re wearing 14oz gloves and it’s two-minute rounds. Who gives a ——–?” before adding: “I hope Mike rattles the little dope, no one gives a —- about him. How is that even in the ——- Dallas stadium?”
