Maxx Crosby contract extension foreshadows big money for trio of star defensive ends image

The next time Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons and Trey Hendrickson see Maxx Crosby, they should thank him.

The Las Vegas Raiders’ star pass rusher reset the market for a top defensive end on Wednesday when he signed a three year, $106.5M deal that includes $91M in guaranteed money.

Hendrickson, Garrett and Parsons shape up to be paid next, and they’ll surely be paid handsomely.

The Bengals star Hendrickson could be first up. He’s under contract through 2025, but he wants a new deal or potentially a trade away from Cincinnati. If Crosby’s deal is any indication, the 30-year old could command $30M per year from someone.

Garrett, who publicly requested a trade away from the Browns, is also likely looking at new, big money whenever he wants it. He’s got two years remaining on a five-year deal at about $20M per year, meaning he too is due for a raise.

Parsons, who is 25 years old and heading into the final year of his rookie deal, will break the market on this one. He could become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL, an honor currently held, as of today, by Crosby.

Hendrickson actually led the NFL in sacks in 2024 with 17.5. Garrett was second with 14.0.

Crosby is coming off a season in which he only played 12 games due to injury, totaling 7.5 sacks. In his first six seasons in the league, Crosby has put up 59.5 sacks, and he’ll play this fall as his age-28 season.
