Singer Angie Stone has died at 63 years old after a devastating accident on Saturday morning.

Reports state that the No More Rain singer was killed in a car crash in Montgomery, Alabama. Her rep Deborah Champagne, who had spoken with the singer the night before, told TMZ she was on her way home from a performance when the incident occurred. She was set to do another show in Baltimore, Maryland on March 1.

The singer was a member of the hip hop brand The Sequence, which was formed in 1979. It became the first all-female group to sign with Sugar Hill Records.

Along with Stone, the group also consisted of Cheryl Cook and Dwendolyn Chisolm. They had all met in high school.

While the band was together, they released several hit songs like Rappers Reprise, Nite Owl and Funk You Up, which has gone on to be sampled in Grammy Award-winning tracks like Bruno Mars 2014 single Uptown Funk.

After six years, the group split up and Stone started her solo career. Her debut album Black Diamond went gold in the United States.

Her most notable songs include No More Rain and Wish I Didnt Miss You and More Than A Woman, which awarded the singer her first Grammy nomination in 2003.

Eventually, she went into other avenues in the entertainment industry like acting. She starred in movies like The Hot Chick, The Fighting Temptations and Scary Movie 5. Her last time on the big screen was in the hit 2014 comedy film Ride Along, alongside Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.

Before she passed, Angie had revealed on Instagram she was working on some new projects.

Im super excited. Were booking tours and a lot of stuff is going on that I dont want to let out of the bag just yet but you can see the big grin on my face because theres a lot of things going on as far as film, television, tours, artists, songwriting, the singer confessed. Theres a lot of projects. All Im going to say is were getting back in the mix.
