The New York Giants appear to be doing their homework on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

On Tuesday, footage captured by Deion Sanders Jr. showed Giants general manager Joe Schoen visiting a Colorado football practice. In the now-viral clip, the team’s top brass can be seen exchanging pleasantries with Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders on the sideline of the indoor practice facility before quickly shifting his focus to the field.

Colorado actively boasts two standout playmakers in Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter – though it’s the former that many on social media believe Schoen was in attendance to watch.

At 2-9, the Giants are actively tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders for the worst record in the NFL. Per Tankathon, New York actively boasts the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but could make a push for the first overall selection should their struggles persist.

Given the barren state of their current quarterback room, pundits and fans alike expect the Giants to select a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Last week, New York granted Daniel Jones’ request to be released, leaving Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock and Tim Boyle as the only remaining signal-callers on the roster.

Though Sanders certainly comes with several question marks, the highly-touted prospect stands as one of, if not the best quarterback in the 2025 class. Over 11 games this season, he has completed 303-of-413 passes for 3,488 yards, 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions en route to commanding the Buffaloes to a stellar 8-3 record.

While the Giants have seemingly already shown great interest in acquiring Sanders’ talents, it remains to be seen if Deion would approve of his son playing in the Big Apple. In the leadup to the NFL Draft, the 57-year-old has time-and-again insisted that he will have a say in where the signal-caller ends up on draft night.

While appearing on Fox Sports 1’s ‘Speak,’ co-host Keyshawn Johnson asked Deion if he’d intervene in the draft process should the “wrong” team try to select Shedeur or Hunter. “Yeah, but I’m not going to do it publicly. I’ll do it privately,” he replied. “I’m gonna be Dad until the cows come home, and with Travis as well.”

Though Deion stopped short of naming the teams he wouldn’t like to see draft his son, he did divulge the traits that he’s looking for in a potential suitor. “Somebody that can handle the quarterback he is and somebody that can handle, understanding what he’s capable of,” he said.

“Someone that has had success in the past handling quarterbacks or someone and an organization that understands what they’re doing. Not just throwing you out there amongst the wolves if you don’t have the support and the infrastructure of the team.

“Forget the [offensive] line. He’s played with lines that weren’t great but he’s been able to do his thing. But just the infrastructure of the team and the direction of where we’re going.”
