Hailey van Lith named her favorite NBA hoopers but fans have been left slamming the TCU star’s list.
Van Lith starred in TCU’s 76-72 win over NC State on Sunday, scoring 18 points with 10 assists and four rebounds. Her display saw her pass 2,000 points in her collegiate career while also posting her maiden career outing with double-digit assists.
Establishing herself as one of the biggest stars in women’s college basketball all while leaving LSU after just one year to move to TCU, Van Lith has proved she’s not afraid to make bold changes that could upset fans.

And it’s a good job too after fans took aim at her opinion of the best hoopers in the NBA. The 23-year-old appeared in a TikTok with Overtime as part of her ongoing collaborations with multinational financial services firm Chase Freedom.
She began by choosing Anthony Edwards over Victor Wembanyama but later changed to Jalen Brunson. Van Lith placed the New York Knicks’ guard over players like Jayson Tatum and Damian Lillard.
But top of the list was the Dallas Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving, picking the eight-time All-Star over the other options she was given, including Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic before admitting an “impossible” decision to chose between Irving and Stephen Curry, before eventually deciding to “stay loyal” and opt for Irving. She then selected the Mavericks star over Nikola Jokic and finally four-time NBA champion LeBron James.
As expected, fans were quick to pick apart her selections in the comments section, with one fan bluntly expressing their disagreement, writing: “So she loves overrated bums got it.” While a second questioned: “Damn she really doesn’t know ball (laughing face emoji)”.
Other users gave their take on her picks, with another pondering about her knowledge of the game. “This is why we cannot trust pro basketball players opinions, they might be very good at the game, but they don’t always know ball,” a third bemoaned.
However, a couple of fans deciphered her picks, suggesting that she chose Irving and Brunson due to their affinity and her current loyalty to Texas with Irving still playing in the state and Brunson being drafted by Dallas before moving to the Knicks. “She at TCU right now, only saying Brunson and Kyrie cause 1 played for Dallas and the other is playing with Dallas right now lol cmon now,” one wrote.
Another user echoed that opinion as the true reason behind her backing of the former Duke college star. “She’s playing in Texas now of course she picked Kyrie. Kyrie over Luka was a surprise though,” they wrote.
On Sunday, the WNBA Draft lottery took place with Chicago Sky to have two picks inside the top 10. Sky star Angel Reese spent her final collegiate year with Van Lith at LSU and lauded her following her performance against NC State, leading some fans to suggest Van Lith could be reuniting with her former team-mate in the Windy City.
