Netflix’s live broadcast of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match on Friday, Nov. 15, boasts a commentary team as star-studded as its main event competitors.

In a joint announcement, Netflix and Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions unveiled the lineup of commentators and analysts just eight days before the eagerly awaited live cast. The roster includes Kate Scott [Abdo], renowned for her play-by-play prowess, and Mauro Ranallo, a seasoned voice in combat sports.

Abdo will host the evening, accompanied by lead booth analyst Andre Ward, the 2011 Fighter of the Year and former boxing unified Light Heavyweight champion. Ranallo will offer play-by-play critiques, joined by 2023 Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Roy Jones Jr. The retired boxer began commentating on the sport back in 1996 on HBO’s Boxing After Dark before officially retiring in 2018.

Joining them, ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ actress and boxing super fan Rosie Perez will team up with respected MMA journalist Ariel Helwani as reporters for the event in Arlington, Texas. Former Bellator MMA play-by-play Sean Wheelock and the Emmy Award-winning Sibley Scoles will also enhance the broadcast with their unique brand of thrilling analysis.

The fight week events are set to kick off on Nov. 12, with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, YouTube boxing commentator Wade Plemons, and Mike Tyson’s son Amir co-hosting the open workouts at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. Dasha Kuret, a former WWE wrestler and wrestling backstage interviewer with nine years of experience, will be the host for the occasion.

The following day [Nov. 13] will see the official press conference for the event where Helwani is expected to take center stage as the host. While the award-winning MMA journalist will carry most of the broadcast responsibilities, he’ll be joined by Plemons, Tyson, and Woodley for the opening and closing streamed portions on YouTube.

A day before the fight, Hewani will report for the public weigh-ins along with Abdo, Jones Jr, and Woodley. Netflix’s chosen broadcast team covers all bases, from award-winning broadcasters to top personalities and experienced boxers.

In addition to the star-studded list of broadcasters drumming up interest for the fight, Netflix has also ramped up the promotion with its announcement of a three-part series for the right card to release in parts across two dates: Part 1 and 2 on Nov. 7, and part 3 on Nov. 12.

The feature, titled ‘Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson’, will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the buildup of both boxers before they step into the ring.
