There are too many dogs left to fend for themselves on the harsh streets, and that is really sad. What is even more heartbreaking is the fact that most people would just turn their heads away from these helpless beings, not even thinking about helping them.
This was exactly the fate of two dogs, a mother and her son, who were literally surviving on the streets of Detroit, Michigan without anyone wanting to help them. The mother did everything to protect her child, but she simply didn’t have the strength to continue fighting.
Fortunately, they were then found by big-hearted rescuers who at least gave them hope for a brighter future.
Heart-Wrenching Post
On September 4, 2024, Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR), a rescue organization located in Detroit, Michigan, published a truly heartbreaking post via their official Facebook account.
In it, they posted a photo of two dogs, most likely bully breeds, curled up together helplessly lying on the street at the end of their strength.
“This stray mother and son duo were found together like this. They were just two #DetroitStreetDogs staying together despite so many odds.” they wrote.
These two poor beings were in a desperate state, but thanks to the quick reaction of the Detroit rescuers, they were saved and taken care of.
Sadly, the little boy was very affected by the harsh conditions of the street despite the fact that his mother did everything to protect him. However, the shelter employees and volunteers were quite motivated to ensure them a brighter future.
“The little boy seems to have ringworm and several other issues. Mom did her best to protect them both and now it’s our job to help them.” DDR wrote in the post.
They also asked for help from all the good people who saw this post, and many responded positively to this noble request.
Many Reactions
This heartbreaking post and a sad picture of a mother dog and her son curled up together on the street caused numerous reactions and made many hearts cry.
Aside from that, many people were infinitely grateful to the rescuers who saved these poor beings, and some of them were delighted by the mother’s unlimited love for her baby, which maybe even saved his life.
“Poor baby, what are people thinking? It’s hard for me to understand people anymore. Prayers for these babies.” one user wrote.
“No greater love than this mommy has for her boy! St Francis please help this sweet little family! ❤️” another added.
And the third quipped: “Thankyou for Saving these babes Praying 🙏🏽 for donations Loving Forever Homes and healing from medical issues.”
Although the mother and son have not yet found their forever homes, we have no doubt that this will happen soon. Just as a mother’s love saved her pup in the most difficult moments, the big hearts of rescuers and all good people will surely help these dogs meet their happy endings.
Love and a good heart always win in the end, no matter how outnumbered they are in this cruel world.
